NOTE: Missing the COMPLETE USSSA All-World Teams from 1969, 72, 74, 78, 81, 91, 99 & 03.
Will Update when received. IF ANYBODY OUT THERE HAS THIS INFO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW SO I CAN UPDATE THIS.
NOTE: Special Mention for Senior Softball
(10 All Worlds, 4 MVPs) - Reenie Fitzgerald - She played with several legendary Greater Cincinnati teams during her early career,
including Dairy Cottage (1964-1968), Escue Pontiac (1969), Tri-State Auction (1970) and Cincinnati Cardinals (1973-1975).
But it wasn’t until Reenie began to play in the Masters and Senior program that she really hit her stride. In 1993, she joined
Northern Cincinnati Sports Medicine, which captured the USSSA Women’s 35-Over World Tournament in Columbia, SC.
Reenie had finally won a World Tournament and was named to her first All-World team. Northern Cincinnati Sports Medicine went
on to win two more 35-Over Worlds in 1998 and 1999, then she then joined the Ohio Cardinals in 1999. Over the next twelve years,
the Cardinals won eight world titles. Reenie has been named to ten All-World teams, and earned four World Tournament MVP awards.
Primarily a pitcher, her lifetime won-loss record is an incredible 345-92, and she is 56-9 in world tournament play.
Reenie boasts a career batting average of .620

United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA)

  • USSSA Class-A Regional World Championships (1970- 1982)
  • Other USSSA World Series Events

USSSA MAJOR Regional World Championships
Note - the USSSA held World Series Championships in 1968 (Milwaukee, WI) and 1969 (Pittsburgh, PA)
in 1970, the format was changed as both the '68 and '69 tournaments had over 50 teams. There would
no World Series held in 1970, as they held the 1970 East and 1970 West World Tournaments. The two
winners would then meet in 1971 for the Modern USSSA World Series. This format would be the way the
USSSA World Series Champion was decided. It stayed this way from 1971 to 1973. In 1973, a Central
World Tournament was held. For the 1974 World Series, the defending Champ along with the first and
second place teams in each Regional World Tournament were invited to an 8-Team World Series. The
East tournament had the third place invited by virtue of having the largest regional world.

In 1981, the USSSA started to have Class-A World Series and these Regionals were used to determine who was invited to
Class-A World Series ..... The Major Class was also started in 1981 and instead of having Regional Tournaments, the
Major teams competed in various NIT tournaments to earn berths to the USSSA Major World Series much like today.

2017 USSSA Men’s AA Slow Pitch Worlds

Held at Kissimmee, Florida on September 16-17.

Champion – Xtreme/Miken/ASP/Athlon, Medina, Minnesota
Runner Up – Precision/3rd St./GBrand/Easton, Chicago, Illinois

The 2017 ‘AA’ Worlds were moved unexpectedly to the Osceola Softball Complex in Kissimmee, Florida after the traditional venue at Fortune Road was closed due to unassessed damage from Hurricane Irma.  This changed the complexion of the tournament a little bit as teams had to adjust to the 300 foot fields with 5 foot home fences instead of the Fortune Road fields that are 8 feet high and 325 feet in distance.  But the teams seemed to adjust pretty well for the most part and most of the games played went 7 innings.

Xtreme beat most of the top ‘AA’ teams to win the worlds.  They played 4 full 7 inning games from 9 AM Sunday morning until 5 PM Sunday evening.  Dan Evans was a warrior on the mound getting some big outs and hits.  Brandon Newman, Colin Baartman, Seth Brown, Lyf Nimmo, and Joe Skyles had some huge home runs.  The team competed early in those 4 games and closed out late against the top teams.  The managing was superb going with hot sticks and role players when needed and each player on the team seemed to elevate their game and rise to the moment in front of them.  And it took every one of those defensive and offensive plays to beat Astros and then Precision twice.

  • MVP – Shannon Smith, Xtreme/Miken/ASP/Athlon
